Employers

Are you looking for employees who:

  • Practice good attendance habits?
  • Arrive on time?
  • Work well with others?

If these items are important to you and your business, South Albany High School and other local school districts have a great tool that can assist you in assessing potential employees –  the Employability Grade.

The program, now in its 5th year, grew out of a partnership with the Albany Chamber of Commerce. It isn’t about grades; rather, it scores the habits that would translate to the work environment for entry-level jobs. Students get EScores that are reported to them and their parents and can be shared with potential employers.

Scores include:

40% – Attendance rate
20% – Late/tardy record
10% – Negative behavior incidents
30% – Teacher evaluations of the ability to work well with others and complete tasks in a timely manner.

Please request the Employability Grade “EScore” when hiring area high school students. Contact us to be added to the growing list of employers that are using this as a tool for hiring candidates that will be shared with students and schools.

“The employability score was implemented in response to regional employers needs and to encourage our students to treat school attendance, timeliness, and behavior with an understanding that the habits they are forming now can have an impact on their future success as an employee. Our hope in this implementation is to connect our student’s daily habits they are developing lifelong habits of success.”
