This program is designed to give educators the opportunity to participate in hands-on learning experiences and provide insight into the construction and manufacturing industries and bring that knowledge back to their classrooms to share with their students

Summer Academies 2016

High school students are invited to join Linn-Benton Community College in one of their three Summer Academies programs for FREE. From June 20th to 22nd you can learn about and experience 3D modeling & design, Computer Numerical Control (CNC) technology, or robotics and "Arduino" micro-controllers.

LBCC 2016 Summer Programs for Youth

Linn-Benton Community College Community Education presents a new summer program for youth and teens. A variety of classes will be offered that range from creative and technical subjects like making 3D games or phone apps to hands on lessons in car maintenance or horse riding. Locations include Albany, Corvallis, Lebanon and Sweet Home.

Linn County’s Youth Wage Grant Program 2016

The Linn County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for the Small Business First-Time Employment Youth Wage Grant Program. The program sponsors small business owners with 35 or less employees who hire young people looking for their first jobs. The county will reimburse businesses $2 per hour for hours worked from May 2 through September 30.

Women, Metals & Manufacturing Workshop Success

Sponsored by Pipeline, Linn-Benton Community College hosted it's first Women, Metals & Manufacturing Workshop on April 22nd. The event was organized to encourage women to explore trades in manufacturing and skilled trades. LBCC welcomed about 40 girls from five mid-valley high schools to the workshop focused on welding, mechatronics, computer-aided design and drafting and other manufacturing skills.

LBCC marks first “CTE Signing Day”

Linn-Benton Community College participated in its first annual Career and Technical Education (CTE) Signing Day on February 18th. The event, one of many going on around the country, was organized to promote CTE programs and student participation.

Educators Take an Industry Tour

Mid-Valley industries invited teachers from South Albany, West Albany and Albany Options high schools to tour their facilities Monday. About 170 teachers and district administrators joined the tour.
